In 1942 Charles and Frank Purley, fed up with the high cost of ice, developed a refrigeration system to keep the stock of their fresh fish shop chilled. And so Lec was born. The brand quickly became a firm favourite and today, over 60 years later, Lec refrigerators are still the appliance of choice in many UK households.

In 2005, Lec became part of Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, owner of the Stoves, Belling and New World cooking brands. GDHA’s reputation for quality and reliability is unrivalled.
